The Sweet Things digital kit contains all the pieces and parts you’ll need to create your own seven page book, including general instructions for assembling each page. To make your book, you’ll need:

  • From Ten Two Studios, the Sweet Things Book Kit.

  • A printer, and cardstock, index stock or bristol. I printed my sheets on 67lb. bristol.
  • A glue stick, or your favorite paper crafting glue.
  • Printed paper to use as a backing, if you wish.
  • Ribbon or lace scraps for decorations. Also, ribbons for binding.
  • Rhinestones, sequins, or glitter glue for embellishments.
  • A craft knife and a hole punch.

High Hair Page Instructions

  1. Print page on cardstock.

  2. Cut out background, figure, and letters around outer edges.
  3. Fold background in half, face to face.
  4. Open background. Position figure on left half of page, lining up bottom edges. Fold hair of figure so it fits on page. Glue bottom, unfolded portion of figure to page.
  5. Glue letters in place to finish phrase.

I decorated the sample with glitter glue on the letters and roses.

  1. Print page on cardstock. Cut out background, tags and medallion around outer edges.

  2. Fold background in half, face to face.
  3. Open background. Position tags and medallion on page as desired. Glue in place, or attach with brads or ribbons.

I decorated the sample shown with a little silver glitter glue around the ovals.

Tea Page Instructions

  1. Print pages on cardstock. You’ll need the background and tag from one page, and the wrapper and tab from another page.

  2. Cut out all pieces around outer edges.
  3. Fold wrapper to create pocket. Glue 1/4” on either side.
  4. Fold tab in half. Glue to end of ribbon or string.
  5. Fold tag in half. Glue the tabbed ribbon or string inside, adjusting length as desired. Glue tag closed. Insert in wrapper.
  6. Fold background in half, face to face.
  7. Open background. Use a craft knife to cut slits along top edges of cups. Tuck wrapper inside slits, and glue to background.

On the sample, I used a little glitter glue to accent the gold areas of the tea set, and decorate the tea bag wrapper.

Cake Page Instructions

  1. Print pages on cardstock.

  2. Cut out background and sign around outer edges.
  3. Fold background in half, face to face.
  4. Open background. Position sign on pole, and glue.

Decorate with glitter glue or other sparkly embellishments, if desired.

Doors Page Instructions

  1. Print page on cardstock. Cut out background and backing scenes around outer edges.

  2. Fold background in half, face to face. Open background. Use a craft knife to cut tops and centers of doors. Fold door flaps open slightly.
  3. Glue backing scenes behind open doors.

Decorate as desired. I used gold glitter glue on the sample.

Shoe Page Instructions

  1. Print page on cardstock. Cut out background, shoe strip, and block letters around outer edges.

  2. Fold background and shoe strip in half, face to face.
  3. Open background. Position shoe strip along top or bottom edge, as desired, and glue in place.

Fan Page Instructions

  1. Print pages on cardstock. You’ll need the background on one page, and the fan from another page.

  2. Cut out background and fan around outer edges.
  3. Fold background in half, face to face.
  4. Accordion fold fan, flipping short tabs back.
  5. Open background. Position fan along bottom of background, centering. Glue short tabs of fan to background.

Decorate with ribbons, if desired. On the sample shown, I used glitter glue to accent the swirls and edges of the fan.

Book Assembly Instructions
Arrange folded pages in the order you’d like them to display, stacking them with folded sides to the left. Set the stack to one side.

Place the two folded pages on your work table, folds facing each other. Apply glue to the backs that are facing you.

Press the backs together, lining up all three edges. Press well.

Place the glued pages down on the table, and grab the third set. Apply glue to both blank pages, and press them together.

Here’s what you’ve glued together so far. The pages are glued back to back. Keep on gluing, adding pages, until all the folded pages have been attached. Let the glue dry.

Cut two short pieces of ribbon, and glue them from front to back, around the spine, about half an inch fom the top and bottom edges.

Cut a longer piece of ribbon, and glue it just to the back, leaving a long tail that can lap over the whole front.

Print the cover sheet on cardstock, and cut the pieces out. You’ll need two covers, a colored matte square, and an ivory word or blank square. (The blank is provided so you can stamp your own design or word if you wish.)

Glue the front and back covers in place, covering the cut edges of the two short pieces of ribbon.

Glue a colored matte square to the front cover, centering it.

Glue the long tail of ribbon over the square, and trim it to the desired length.

Glue the word or design you’ve chosen over the ribbon.

Tie three bows, and glue them to the front cover, lining them up with the ribbons that cover the spine.

I edged the squares with a little gold glitter glue.

Lisa, You have done it again! I love to find a new download that I can play with in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep….and yet….can’t seem to come up with something ‘to do’ on my own.

Thank you for my late nights in the art room where I actually accomplish something.
    Keep ‘em coming!!
