A Year of Nouveau Calendar

Sometimes I develop products for purely selfish reasons. In 2007, I had a little calendar hanging just to my left whenever I was sitting at my computer. It was from my realtor, and had his picture on it. Much as I like Richard, I really didn’t want to spend another year with him starning over my left shoulder. When I found a set of art nouveau postcards based on the months of the year, I decided to size them to create myself a lovely new calendar for 2008—and that’s how the A Year of Nouveau collage set was born.

Want to make your own calendar? You’ll need:

  • A 2008 2009 calendar blank, which is sized for this project. It’s a .pdf file, so you’ll need Adobe Reader to open it. (Please don’t email me telling me the file is corrupt—it’s not the file, it’s your connection not downloading the complete file.)

  • A Year of Nouveau collage set from Ten Two Studios.
  • A glue stick.

  • A hole punch.
  • A scrap of ribbon.

Print the calendar blank on your choice of paper. I used some creamy linen paper for mine.

Cut the calendar pages out on the black lines, and stack them in order.

Cut out the images from the A Year of Nouveau set, and stack them in order.

Glue the images in place on their respective pages. Be sure to match the January page with the January image, working through the months to December.

Stack the pages together again, in order, and punch holes where indicated.

Thread ribbon through the holes and tie a bow at the center, leaving a little slack in back to create a hanging loop

How’s that for a simple project to start off the new year?
