A Year of Nouveau Calendar
Sometimes I develop products for purely selfish reasons. In 2007, I had a little calendar hanging just to my left whenever I was sitting at my computer. It was from my realtor, and had his picture on it. Much as I like Richard, I really didn’t want to spend another year with him starning over my left shoulder. When I found a set of art nouveau postcards based on the months of the year, I decided to size them to create myself a lovely new calendar for 2008—and that’s how the A Year of Nouveau collage set was born.
Want to make your own calendar? You’ll need:
- A
20082009 calendar blank, which is sized for this project. It’s a .pdf file, so you’ll need Adobe Reader to open it. (Please don’t email me telling me the file is corrupt—it’s not the file, it’s your connection not downloading the complete file.) - A Year of Nouveau collage set from Ten Two Studios.
- A glue stick.
- A hole punch.
- A scrap of ribbon.
Print the calendar blank on your choice of paper. I used some creamy linen paper for mine.
Cut the calendar pages out on the black lines, and stack them in order.
Cut out the images from the A Year of Nouveau set, and stack them in order.
Glue the images in place on their respective pages. Be sure to match the January page with the January image, working through the months to December.
Stack the pages together again, in order, and punch holes where indicated.
Thread ribbon through the holes and tie a bow at the center, leaving a little slack in back to create a hanging loop
How’s that for a simple project to start off the new year?
Add a Ten Two Studios blinkie to your blog sidebar!
Choose the light or dark version, to coordinate with your blog template.
You are so generous ~ and the irony for me is that I spent quite a few hours roughing up a design for a calendar that I would add photos to ~ then never got it completed because I didn’t like the way it hung (using a plastic coil). Thank you for everything you contribute ~ guess it’s about time I made a purchase hey!
Very clever!!!
Perfectly adorable ~ LOVE it!
How wonderful that you worked out the calander blank for us. Too bad I had already just placed an order with you for other stuff cause I love the cards.
Easy and fun way to create!
How generous you are! This is so cute! Thanks so much for sharing!
This just what I have been looking for! Thanks so much Lisa. Love all your sites BTW, you are very generous with your creativity and time and it is much appreciated by this arty girl.
I’ve just seen it in March, but it’s so beautiful !(by coencidence, this year one of my points of interest is exactly Art Nouveau!).You’re a true-blue artist and very generous to share it with us.Tks so much for the opportunity to keep on learning
Hi Lisa,
Is it possible to get the calendar blanks for 2009? I ordered last years and never got to make it so I still have Nouveau set.
Thanks
Dayle, it’s on my list of things to do in November.
You are good!
How many miles long is your list of things to do???
xo
Not as long as it was a few minutes ago—the 2009 calendar is posted
What a fun thing to make and give as a hostess gift or any gift. Thank you for the gift of instruction.
Just finished one up for a friend of my husband’s at work. Her
birthday is coming up and I know she will enjoy it. Thanks for
all the great things you let us have for FREE!!!!!
I love your website! Any chance you will make a 2010 calendar blank?
If someone orders the Year of Nouveau set, and asks for 2010, I’d be glad to whip up a new calendar blank
