Subscribe to the Monthly Muse

The Monthly Muse is an online newsletter designed to educate and inspire you. Each month, you’ll receive a link to the latest issue, filled with ideas, lessons on how to make things, and thoughts on art and creativity, all centered on a monthly challenge designed to get your creative juices flowing.

The Monthly Muse is created in .PDF format. It’s viewable in Adobe Reader, a standard program loaded onto most computer systems. If your computer does not have this program, it’s free from the nice folks at Adobe. Once you have it, you may view the newsletter online, or print it for your personal use.

Six month subscription - just $16.50!

First, purchase a subscription. Subscription rates are $16.50 for six monthly downloads—that’s just $2.75 per issue! The August trial issue is FREE, and not part of your subscription. I highly reccomend that you download the free trial BEFORE you subscribe, to make sure your system has the resources to download and open the monthly issues.

If you are already a Monthly Muse subscriber, please do not use this button to renew your subscription. Please wait for a renewal notice, and use the link provided in it to renew.

Once you’ve paid for your subscription, I’ll send an email invitation to the email address you use when you pay for your subscription to join the Monthly Muse group. Give me 24 hours (Monday through Friday, because I don’t work weekends) to do this—and do be aware of which address you’ve used when you send your payment. The group is where I’ll post announcements about where to pick up the latest issue of The Monthly Muse. This is an announcements only list—so, no chatter or extra emails will come flooding into your mailbox.

At the beginning of each month, I’ll post a message to the Monthly Muse group, letting you know that the new issue has been posted, and where to find it. That issue will remain posted throughout the calendar month, and will be removed at the beginning of the following month when the next issue is uploaded.

As a subscriber, it will be your responsibility to check the group messages each month and download the current issue. Issues will not be sent to you via private email, mail or fax, nor will the link to the download—it’s all done through the group interface. If you forget to check the messages, are having trouble with your computer or Internet connection, or miss downloading an issue for any reason, it will be unavailable if the next issue has already been posted. If this sounds like too much trouble, you might want to purchase individual issues on CD—it’s a little more expensive, but you can purchase them whenever you like.

  1. Just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know what a GREAT JOB you continue to do on the Monthly Muse….it always arrives on time (unlike my slow moving mail subscriptions), is so well-done, thought out and beautiful…. the how-to photos and descriptions could not be any more clear and I have yet find one article/how-to example that I could not learn from… and the images you put together for us each month… wow… it is so nice to receive all this in one little package with no effort on my part.. Thank you!!!

  2. You have an extraordinary gift for teaching. Thank you for documenting your thought processes and techniques in such an abundant way. You make your readers feel like you’re sharing a piece of your life with them as opposed to someone who is merely teaching a method. As you grow and evolve I hope you keep your candid style.

  8. I am a current subscriber to the Monthly Muse who also bought all the back issues on CDs. What a treasure trove of creative ideas to give me just the nudge I need to sit down and create something! I enjoy all your websites for the wealth of information and your clear directions, and of course your friendly conversational style of teaching. Thanks so much!

  9. This is my second subscription to the MM and I can say it is well worth EVERY penny! The special for August was worth the price of the subscription alone and if you don’t subscribe, you are missing something!

  10. As a retired art teacher, I really appreciate Lisa’s approach to teaching! Clear concise instruction with lots of photos make it easy to follow along and create nifty projects! The Muse is well worth its subscription price and more! I love it so much that I’ve even typed an index for all the articles . . . from Aug 2005 through the present . . . now I can find just the article or image I’m looking for! Thanks so much!
