4th Anniversary Giveaway #5

Design team member Patti Monroe-Mohrenweiser brings a wonderful sense of humor and whimsy to her work. When I was putting together bird images earlier this year, she confessed to staring up at her Margaritaville Parrothead sign and wishing I’d do some parrots. A few weeks later, I came out with the Pretty Polly collage set and Patti’s Parrots faux postage, which was named in her honor. Not to be outdone, when I sent her copies of the parrots, she used them to create a cocktail guide, with recipes for margaritas and pina coladas. Pretty, and useful for a little liquid inspiration—now, pass me some ice…
Leave a little comment love for Patti, and you’ll be entered in today’s 4th anniversary drawing for FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS WORTH OF COLLAGE GOODIES. Remember, comment love, not “enter me in the drawing”!
The winner of the drawing for the $400 worth of collage goodies, chosen from all the comments on giveaway posts from July 1st – July 5th is…
Karen Newman.

I love the idea of a cocktail guide. The parrots conjure up pictures of pirates and Jolly Rogers.
Very cute idea! I love the parrots, so bright and pretty.
As a fellow Parrothead, I always appreciate a nice parrot image . . . or a frozen margarita . . . or both. And here they both are together – Cool!
Patty – what a great gift your “cocktail” book would make – I love the little parrot stamps – makes me think that perhaps there is a picture of a pirate or two and maybe an old treasure map somewhere in the book also.
Kewl idea! I want to make some little books like this up for our group. And the parrots are perfect. Nice job!
Great project. I have quite a few parrothead friends, who will be getting something similar for Christmas. Thank you for such a great idea!
Just wanted to add a little Wow! for yesterday’s project. I was out all day and comments are closed, but it deserves a great comment also!
What wonderful little books! My mind it whirling thinking about how much fun these would be to make. Love the images…they are perfect for the books. Congratulations, on having your books presented.
Parrotheads unite! Great idea for the in-laws’ new lake house, except I’ll be using shorebirds. Thanks for the creative kick in the pants, Patty!
Patti , your work is lovely . I love the background, the torn edges on the recipes and the muted colors. With this combination the parrots really stand out .
The ideas that I have seen are so great. Love the colors. Thanks for sharing!
Patti, I love your little book. I’ve just started making books and love your idea. The parrots make perfect partners for Island drinks! Being able to get collage sets and faux postage in the same theme really makes designing something like this easier for a book making “novice” like me!
So cheerful and whimsical! With the heat we have had lately………frozen margaritas sounds absolutely delightful!! Wonderful work!
What a cool idea for a skinny book! I lovvvvvvvve the idea.
Sure could use a nice slushhy Margarita right about now….Thanks
This is too cute – very good idea – and could even try some of the drinks too!
So Faboo!!! i am loving the creative diversity this week…..like your work…

Very cute!
Whimsical and birds, go so well together.
Gorgeous idea. It will spur me on to start a similar project, and even though I don’t drink, I might be tempted to try a Pina Colada
Aaahhhh Mr. Buffet … what ‘love’ did he create so long ago !! and it is still circling around and now we get these youthful joyful beauties that expand the heart and brain !! I Love it.
Patti – I LOVE your parrot cocktail book. How clever!! Even if a person couldn’t travel to an exotic land, they’d feel like they were there drinking one of those yummy drinks and seeing your cute book to boot.

What a clever idea…Love it. I like the format…tall and narrow…very cool. Thank you for sharing.
Hi, I know several parrotheads and that is a perfect pairing, drink recipes and parrots.
Cool cocktail guides!
Love Margaritas
Gotta love it when pretty crafts are also useful!
I love the pairing, tropical drinks and beautiful colorful parrots!
So much better than pink elephants and martinis!
Thanks for sharing,
Jodi
Patty, love your Mixed Drink book. Polly is a fun bird.
Patty, your Boat Drinks book with those colorful images of parrots is so very cool and refreshing. It has a very nostalgic feel to it for me, and brings back memories of when I lived in Florida a few miles from the Everglades and all the amazingly beautiful birds that populate the jungles down there. Way to go! Great job!
What a perfect idea for a fun summer project.Just add a treasure map and a rowdy pirate crew and you have the makings for a fun afternoon!
Well Patti did am awesome job on the BOAT DRINKS project! How cute and clever! It would make a sweet gift for anyone hosting a boat party, cruise, or even a luau. Great idea Patti!
It was 104 degrees at quarter to eight this evening, cooling down to 101 by eight….any recipe for anything cold to drink would be appreciated, but these coordinated parrots and recipes are just so perfect for each other! I like these a lot.
Love the recipe book…makes you want to say ARGGHHH like a pirate. Thanks for sharing your functional art.
Patti and Lisa, I love this! We used to visit my in-laws in Florida every year at Christmas, listening to Jimmy Buffett songs on the entire drive down. Now we refer to all those CDs as Christmas music. Pass me a boat drink!!!
Patti – this book is a great idea! I love being able to create “useful” things as well as pretty things — You managed to do both! Thanks for the idea.
Love, love, love these pages! The skinny journal looks like fun … and I’d love to try some of those recipes myself LOL!
Cool summertime recipes! Love the birds!

I can hear Jimmy Buffet playing in the background as I decide which colorful concoction (is that how you spell it?) I want to sip while relaxing on the white sand beach…….love all the colors in the birds and the stamp shape.
I’m not into birds, but these parrots are really cute. I like how you used them in a “drink” book. You are so imaginative. Alice
What a lovely idea! Beautiful and practical, too! Thanks for sharing!
I agree with others, I love the faded, “treasure map” look of the pages, which makes the parrots stand out sublimely. It’s such a great idea, too! Thank you for sharing all of these wonderful ideas!
Love this! I’m a Jimmy Buffet fan too and this would be a great gift for Parrotheads and sailing friends!
